Small thatched hut communities or sizable clusters of stone, brick, and tiled homes make up villages. Artists and filmmakers have portrayed Indian villages as a straightforward collection of mud-plastered walls, sheltered by trees, overlooking vast tracts of greenery, with a few people moving slowly and, of course, bullock carts. They show a villager walking gracefully while carrying a pot on her head.

The village is significant because it is where the majority of our nation's agricultural production is produced. The foundation of India's economy is the village. It is crucial for preserving the ecological harmony of the environment. Most villages are covered in vegetation, including trees. They are encircled by lush grasslands. As far as the eye could see, there were miles and miles of lush fields.

Village life is full of pleasure and happiness since no one is in a rush like they are in cities. Life in an Indian village is by no means a walk in the park. Farming and agriculture are two of the most difficult jobs. The Indian farmer, in particular, is a hardworking and diligent man. The land and the crops need close attention and effort day and night for a successful harvest. A farmer typically begins his day before the sun comes up and works all day long. He puts in a lot of manual labour and is persistent in his task.

Villagers lead fairly straight-forward lives. Most villages are located away from the bustle of urban culture. Because a village is surrounded by trees, flowers, mountains, streams, and farmlands, it is possible to appreciate the beauty of nature there. The air in the village is clean, and one can sense the freshness of the breeze. The inhabitants don't have very high needs, but they nevertheless lack access to basic amenities. A few amenities that are needed in the villages are clean drinking water, power, health centers, schools, and good sanitation. The atmosphere is constantly indicative of their poverty.

In the hamlet, the Panchayati Raj system is still in place, and it continues to oversee all operations.

500 Words Essay On village

My village is a small town with only 500 residents. My village is a short distance from Ghazipur, where I currently reside. I return to my village once a year for my Dussehra break. During this time, my dad and I visit our ancestral home, where Durga Puja is annually celebrated. Large trees line either side of the road that leads to the settlement, and they are so vibrantly alive that it seems as though they are dancing with joy to welcome us to their hamlet. I've never witnessed a scene that stunning. At the village's entrance, there is a temple where frequent prayers, rituals, and other acts of worship are performed. A sizable pond is located close to the temple, and it is encircled by mango, champak, and peepal trees. All of the people are drawn in by the aroma of the flowers and mango blossoms. My ancestors lived behind the peepal tree.

School | My village has a primary school where the local children attend classes with great enthusiasm. I enjoy observing them while classes are in session, but the school is currently closed in observance of Durga Utsav.

Medical Centre | A doctor and a nurse work in a modest dispensary. Simple ailments like fever and stomach ache can be treated by them. People must travel to the nearby town for complex illnesses and medications.

Grocery Store | The essentials for sustaining oneself are accessible in a tiny food store. In addition to the food store, there is a tea shop with some munchies. Even during other times of the day, the tea stall is never empty and serves as the main gathering place for the entire town in the evening. There are always plenty of people there conversing, drinking tea, and sharing the latest news.

A tiny rivulet is my favorite location. There are acres of grasslands and hills beyond the rivulet, which is why I love visiting and spending time there. It will make the ideal image for a painter to create. Everyone bathes and swims in the river, both young and old. The locals' primary line of work is farming. My village's tranquil atmosphere always makes me feel really happy whenever I visit. Here, I may eat some organic fruits and veggies that are fresh. My village's residents are kind and cooperative, and they don't have any resentments. They behave as if they are one big family that always looks out for one another. This act of kindness is uncommon to find in the metropolis.

My village is a modest home for contented folks. They coexist peacefully and in harmony here. The villagers must have a reliable source of upliftment because they work so hard. For example, schools and clinics in the village should be kept up and expanded. Farmers should be assisted by giving them financial support, educating them about contemporary agricultural methods, and providing them with information about the true market value of their crops. I would thus ask the government to step up and improve the village's farming, educational, and medical infrastructure.

Nowadays due to urbanization and globalization the site of a lush green village is becoming extinct. Villages are an ode to the simple ways of living. Sometimes we fall into the hoax of thinking that villages aren’t important in a country, rather modern cities and modern development is what is needed to sustain ourselves.

But if we look closely we will find that villages supply us the basic needs of our life like, food, clothing from textiles, different items of daily use from different cottage industries, cattle and manual labour. Hence village form an important sector of a country’s development sphere.

My village is the village of Dumka located in Jharkhand. Although in recent times it is rapidly developing into a modern city. But from my very childhood I grew up in this village. My heart and all my memories are tightly woven all around this village. We can reach it through bus or train or car in just one day.

The people over there have very simple ways of living. Maximum people have their individual lands where they cultivate themselves some crops of daily need like potatoes and papayas. My grandparents lived there, even they earned a small bungalow with a small garden in which they had a collection of fruit trees like mango, guava and lichi and some crops and a lawn for sitting and having morning tea.

The environment of the area is quite serene, no loud horns, no mic blarings, and no people talking. The only sounds that come to the ears are the sound of bird chirping, woodpeckers pecking and the sound of some cattle grazing in a distant field.

You don’t need a television or a smart phone if you find yourself in such an atmosphere. The place is also sparsely populated. The nearest house from my grandfather’s house was the house of an army colonel some 0.5 kilometers away.

The night time atmosphere in the village was more blissful than in the day. Night falls quiet early in villages than in the cities. In the cities the people go to bed usually at midnight that is at 12 A.M but in villages the people go to bed quiet early almost at 8 or 9 pm, but on the other side, they get up quiet early and set to work.

Once you lie down quietly in bed you can hear the murmur of wind past your ears, the sound of grass blades brushing against each other, the sweet song of cricket going on uninterruptedly, a distant sound of a dog howling and suddenly a sweet and deep drowsiness will overcome you and eventually to fall to sleep listening to the sounds of nature.

Such is the connection of the place with the natural environment. It is right in the lap of nature. There is nothing much to do in that village. Mobile signal accessibility is a matter of luck, electricity availability is quite disrupted, and hence there is no way of watching television. Well to do families only could afford themselves an inverter and a television set.

Coming to the celebration of festivals, festivals in villages are quite different. It is not filled with loudspeakers and aren’t as crowded as the pujas and festivals in cities. Instead the people celebrate it quite peacefully and while seeking the blessings of god.

Some festivals bring in the country fair with them. Country fairs are extraordinary things to watch. Country fair is filled with people of all categories trying to sell knick-knacks, toys, food, most of them are made by they themselves. Cottage industries contributing to the same.

In the toy store you won’t get a recent edition of Barbie or any action figure, rather you’ll get earthen toys painted bright in traditional colours. Who’s the maker? The seller himself! He might be the potter who has come to the fair to sell off his works of art. In some fairs also called ‘melas’ you can also shoe puppet shows with puppets looking very traditional, all decked up in bright Indian clothes and colours.

In this village there is the postman called ‘Ramubabu’. He is your delivery guy, your speed post guy, your parcel guy etc. this means that there is no formal delivery services available in this village. People use only to post offices to receive items as well as deliver them.

Not feeling like to cook? Want to order pizza? Want it to be delivered right at your doorstep within 30 minutes? Well, all this are dreams in this village. First of all there is no pizza shops located here and there. The only pizza shop present is there near the main bazaar (a comparatively developed place with a few departmental stores, garment shops and other permanent shops) some 2 kilometers away.

If you want to eat pizza you probably have to go there and eat. Means of transport ? A hand pulled rickshaw or an auto. There is no question of delivery guys, since not much people know about pizza there.

The main commodities of travel are rickshaws, vans, autos and buses. Another drawback of this village is that they lack public toilets. Some individual pucca and kaccha homes also lack in adequate sanitary facilities. Hence people goes to open fields early in the morning with buckets and jars to get their daily needs done is a common sight.

The people of these villages deserve a better life. They have right to adequate civic amenities like the municipal water, electricity and better transportation and connectivity. The condition of farmers in today’s world is pitiable. They should be uplifted from their social status since they are the pillars on which our economy stands.

A village fair is a gathering of people held annually or periodically. It is usually held on the occasion of the Bangla new year’s day or religious festivals. It lasts for a day or two. It is generally held in an open space to which communication is good and easy.

It is generally held in some open place, on the bank of a river, or in the yard of a temple. It is one of the chief attractions of the village. It is held once or twice a year on a special occasion. It may be a religious day or birth anniversary of a holy man. The Baishakhi Mela is a famous village fair of our country held in Bangla new month Baishakh every year throughout the country.

Various handmade fancy goods, sweetmeats, toys, and wooden things are mostly sold in a village fair. Besides, all these various readymade garments, utensils, and other useful things are brought for sale here. Children buy fancy goods, toys, and flutes. Boys buy kites and young girls buy cosmetics and so on.

Circus, Jatra, and magic shows are the other attractions of the village fair. Circus parties often bring tigers, elephants, monkeys, horses, and bears.

The village fair is an exhibition of traditional cottage industries. The farmers make many useful things at home when they have no work at hand during the rainy season. These things are brought to the fair by them.

The village fair is not free from problems. It is wanting in proper sanitation. So, it sometimes leads to the outbreak of epidemics. Yet a village fair is a good recreation for the village people.

A village fair is a part of our culture. It presents a glimpse of our rural life. Both children and elderly people enjoy it most. To all classes of villages, it is a matter of great joy although it has some evils. We should be more careful of removing the evils of the village fair.

It was the last day of Poush. The harvesting was over, the granaries were full. Huge fields greet our eyes. There the fair was organized.

A village fair needs no advertisement. Everyone knows when and where it will be held. The purpose is to buy and sell things and to celebrate a holiday with joy. The artisans, the weavers, the farmers would come with their goods. They would display their skill and craftsmanship.

Preparations start a month before the festival. The ground is cleared. Bamboo posts with the thatched roofs are put up in rows. Each stall is nicely decorated. There is one row of agricultural goods and tools; in another row, agricultural and horticultural products, vegetables, and flower plants and saplings are on display.

A portion of the field is set aside for recreation. There are merry-go-rounds. In a huge pandal, cinema films, theatres, magic shows, and folk songs follow one after another, night after night.

A fair is held chiefly for trade. The amusements make business pleasant. But it has also an educational side. We learn much from it.

I like to visit such a fair with interest. Fairs are generally held in places of worship or birthplaces of great poets. Poush-Mela of Santiniketan has now an India-wide attraction.

I have been to such fair several times in my life . It was held in the circuit house Maidan, Mymensingh town. On the occasion of 1st Baishakh, I visited the fair. I went there with two of my friends . There were different types of stalls in separate rows such as bookstalls, stalls for dolls and toys, electronic goods, handmade goods, sweetmeats, junk food, and other things. All stalls were almost crowded. We toured the fair for a long time and enjoyed it very much. I bought some toys for my younger sister. Having eaten some sweets and junk food we came back home. In fact, it was very much enjoyable for us. The memory of traveling to the fair is one of my happy memories.

The name of my village is Rampur and it is situated in the foot region of the mountains. In our village, we have a small house where my Grandparents live in. Whenever there are school holidays I return to my village from the city as I love my village life very much.

If I have to describe my village then, in my village every family has a small house with plenty of space and almost all houses look very similar to each other as they all have the traditional village house looks. Another fun fact is in the city where I leave there are huge mountains in the form of buildings, but in the village here are real mountains with greenery which gives fresh air to us. Near the village there is a small river where I and my village friends go for swimming, all of my village friends are expert swimmers even though they have not taken any training.

In the village, every home has domestic animals like cows, buffalos, horses, dogs, and cats. In the village fresh milk is available at any time and there is no scarcity of it. Other dairy products are so tasty as all of them are prepared naturally at the home itself.

Whenever there is any festival or an occasion every people in the village come together and celebrate it without any discrimination. In an emergency or at a time of need, every people in the village always help each other as a family.

With my village friends, I play cricket, go for swimming and have lots of fun with them. And our small village is like a family which always help each other, so I like to be in my village and I love my village life very much.
