Descriptive Essay Example of My Favourite Beach

We all have some favorite places that we love to visit during the holidays. The beautiful scenes that we come across are a welcome reprieve for our tired minds after a long period of work.

Finding My Zen at the Beach

For me, the beach is the best place to be. Others may think differently due to unique preferences and tastes. Personally, I find that the seaside is a unique choice for a holiday destination. There is nothing quite as calming as the bright blue hues of the ocean. The wind dances with the waves, causing them to move almost rhythmically, capturing the attention of the vacationer.

Another reason why I love the beach is that I enjoy swimming. I particularly love doing this with my friends as the company makes swimming more fun and provides a great way for us to bond.

Sunsets at the Beach

Another stunning visual to be enjoyed by the seaside is the sunset. I truly enjoy the play of colors as day transitions into night – from dainty pinks to fiery oranges, even to rich purples. I find this picturesque experience exceptionally dynamic. It makes something inside me come alive. I don’t have this experience anywhere else.

One great thing about staying at the beach is that there is something to be enjoyed during the day and during the evening. I love that the beach stays open most hours as this gives me flexibility. I can choose when I want to visit and not have to follow a strict schedule, which works well when I’m on vacation.

The Beach During Evenings

I particularly love heading out at nightfall to visit the shoreline. The beach is very calm, peaceful, tranquil, and relaxing. It helps me unwind and takes away the stress that plagues me at work. Looking at the night sky with all the bright stars and the moon causes me to feel light-hearted.

Silhouette of Man Standing Near Body of Water

The best part for me is once night sets in, I can lay in the sand and stare up at the sky. I just linger there with my toes in the soft sand and think of all the things I am grateful for. I also give thanks to the Almighty Creator who made these majestic works of art.

I can only hope that I get to do this more often. My dream is to be able to frequent the most beautiful beaches in the world, to revel in the peace that they offer.

Make Time for Rest

These days, people are so busy with work and other obligations that they forget to pause and take a breather.

The tendency for many passionate workaholics is they keep scheduling a time to take a break, only to postpone it when something urgent captures their attention. While some of these are valid reasons to reschedule, most are really just convenient excuses to stay busy.

The glorification of busyness is the sad reality that keeps people from being healthy and well. We work our bodies to death and don’t give ourselves a chance to come up for air. At some point in our lives, we have been sold a false idea of productivity: that we have to work 24/7, and that taking a break is a luxury.

Breathers should not be seen as luxuries but as necessities. Rest is actually a productivity strategy. The way to truly accomplish things excellently is to do so from a place of rest. Work smart and you check off your to-do list without the anxiety and the dread. Work hard and you will find yourself resenting the actual work because it’s just exhausting.

Related: Everything You Need to Know About Writing a Narrative Essay

Don’t wait until you are burned out before you take a break. Schedule regular timeouts for yourself and use those times to “escape” to a place that helps you take a breath. Your soul, your work and your other commitments will thank you for it.

Whether it’s the sandy beaches for you or the mountains or any other hotspot, my hope for you is that you will also be able to find your sanctuary and safe space. Believe me when I say you need it and deserve it.

200 Words Short Essay About My Favorite Place (Beach)

Where do always I go when I want to feel relaxed? My family and friends all know that I head to where the ocean is. The beach is my most favorite place on earth. There is something magical about this place that makes me feel lighter immediately.

My favorite time to go is during the summer when the beautiful colors of the sky are most vibrant. That the sunset is amazing is an understatement. I could watch the sun go down after a blazing hot day over and over again. The gradually-changing hues are a glorious sight to behold.

The beach is my favorite place to find inspiration. I often find that when I get stuck in a creative rut, the extraordinary natural elements at my favorite spots instantly rejuvenate my mental stamina. If only I could go back every week, I would. Just watching the waves move in sync with one another is the best way to recharge for me.

Relaxation is important for everyone. There are other places that I also find charming, but I’ve found my sweet spot by the seashore – I hope you find yours too.

How to Describe Your Favorite Place to Visit

For a descriptive essay on your favorite place to visit, the best trick you can use is to maximize your five senses. Think of the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and sensations your favorite place evokes. How do these make you feel? Connecting what your senses pick up to an emotion brings your reader into your world and allows them to experience the same things you have.

Before you start writing, take some time to close your eyes and imagine yourself in that favorite place. What are you doing? Who are you with? The imagery you draw out from these questions serves as the starting point of your custom essay.

Why the Beach Is a Popular Favorite Place to Describe in Essays

There’s no question about it – it’s not that hard to fall in love with the beach. There are also plenty of unforgettable seascapes around the world, so you really are spoilt for choice. You can write so much about your favorite things to do there during the day, afternoon, and evening. There are even plenty of memorable activities that you can do during sunrise and sunset.

Amani Willett/Gallery Stock

New York City, 2009; photograph by Amani Willett. A collection of his images, Disquiet , was published by Damiani last year.

Across the way from our apartment—on Houston, I guess—there’s a new wall ad. The site is forty feet high, twenty feet wide. It changes once or twice a year. Whatever’s on that wall is my view: I look at it more than the sky or the new World Trade Center, more than the water towers, the passing cabs. It has a subliminal effect. Last semester it was a spot for high-end vodka, and while I wrangled children into their snowsuits, chock-full of domestic resentment, I’d find myself dreaming of cold martinis.

Before that came an ad so high-end I couldn’t tell what it was for. There was no text—or none that I could see—and the visual was of a yellow firebird set upon a background of hellish red. It seemed a gnomic message, deliberately placed to drive a sleepless woman mad. Once, staring at it with a newborn in my arms, I saw another mother, in the tower opposite, holding her baby. It was 4 AM . We stood there at our respective windows, separated by a hundred feet of expensive New York air.

The tower I live in is university accommodation; so is the tower opposite. The idea occurred that it was quite likely that the woman at the window also wrote books for a living, and, like me, was not writing anything right now. Maybe she was considering antidepressants. Maybe she was already on them. It was hard to tell. Certainly she had no way of viewing the ad in question, not without opening her window, jumping, and turning as she fell. I was her view. I was the ad for what she already had.

But that was all some time ago. Now the ad says: Find your beach . The bottle of beer—it’s an ad for beer—is very yellow and the background luxury-holiday-blue. It seems to me uniquely well placed, like a piece of commissioned public art in perfect sympathy with its urban site. The tone is pure Manhattan. Echoes can be found in the personal growth section of the bookstore (“Find your happy”), and in exercise classes (“Find your soul”), and in the therapist’s office (“Find your self”). I find it significant that there exists a more expansive, national version of this ad that runs in magazines, and on television.

In those cases photographic images are used, and the beach is real and seen in full. Sometimes the tag line is expanded, too: When life gives you limes…Find your beach . But the wall I see from my window marks the entrance to Soho, a district that is home to media moguls, entertainment lawyers, every variety of celebrity, some students, as well as a vanishingly small subset of rent-controlled artists and academics.

Collectively we, the people of Soho, consider ourselves pretty sophisticated consumers of media. You can’t put a cheesy ad like that past us. And so the ad has been reduced to its essence—a yellow undulation against a field of blue—and painted directly onto the wall, in a bright pop-art style. The mad men know that we know the Soho being referenced here: the Soho of Roy Lichtenstein and Ivan Karp, the Soho that came before Foot Locker, Sephora, Prada, frozen yogurt. That Soho no longer exists, of course, but it’s part of the reason we’re all here, crowded on this narrow strip of a narrow island. Whoever placed this ad knows us well.

Find your beach . The construction is odd. A faintly threatening mixture of imperative and possessive forms, the transformation of a noun into a state of mind. Perhaps I’m reading too much into it. On the one hand it means, simply, “Go out and discover what makes you happy.” Pursue happiness actively, as Americans believe it their right to do. And it’s an ad for beer, which makes you happy in the special way of all intoxicants, by reshaping reality around a sensation you alone are having. So, even more precisely, the ad means: “Go have a beer and let it make you happy.” Nothing strange there. Except beer used to be sold on the dream of communal fun: have a beer with a buddy, or lots of buddies. People crowded the frame, laughing and smiling. It was a lie about alcohol—as this ad is a lie about alcohol—but it was a different kind of lie, a wide-framed lie, including other people.

Here the focus is narrow, almost obsessive. Everything that is not absolutely necessary to your happiness has been removed from the visual horizon. The dream is not only of happiness, but of happiness conceived in perfect isolation. Find your beach in the middle of the city. Find your beach no matter what else is happening. Do not be distracted from finding your beach. Find your beach even if—as in the case of this wall painting—it is not actually there. Create this beach inside yourself. Carry it with you wherever you go. The pursuit of happiness has always seemed to me a somewhat heavy American burden, but in Manhattan it is conceived as a peculiar form of duty.

In an exercise class recently the instructor shouted at me, at all of us: “Don’t let your mind set limits that aren’t really there.” You’ll find this attitude all over the island. It is encouraged and reflected in the popular culture, especially the movies, so many of which, after all, begin their creative lives here, in Manhattan. According to the movies it’s only our own limited brains that are keeping us from happiness. In the future we will take a pill to make us limitless (and ideal citizens of Manhattan), or we will, like Scarlett Johansson in Lucy , use 100 percent of our brain’s capacity instead of the mythic 10. In these formulations the world as it is has no real claim on us. Our happiness, our miseries, our beaches, or our blasted heaths—they are all within our own power to create, or destroy. On Tina Fey’s television show 30 Rock , Jack Donaghy—the consummate citizen of this new Manhattan—deals with problems by crushing them with his “mind vise.”

The beach is always there: you just have to conceive of it. It follows that those who fail to find their beach are, in the final analysis, mentally fragile; in Manhattan terms, simply weak. Jack Donaghy’s verbal swordplay with Liz Lemon was a comic rendering of the various things many citizens of Manhattan have come to regard as fatal weakness: childlessness, obesity, poverty. To find your beach you have to be ruthless. Manhattan is for the hard-bodied, the hard-minded, the multitasker, the alpha mamas and papas. A perfect place for self-empowerment—as long as you’re pretty empowered to begin with. As long as you’re one of these people who simply do not allow anything—not even reality—to impinge upon that clear field of blue.

There is a kind of individualism so stark that it seems to dovetail with an existentialist creed: Manhattan is right at that crossroads. You are pure potential in Manhattan, limitless, you are making yourself every day. When I am in England each summer, it’s the opposite: all I see are the limits of my life. The brain that puts a hairbrush in the fridge, the leg that radiates pain from the hip to the toe, the lovely children who eat all my time, the books unread and unwritten.

And casting a shadow over it all is what Philip Larkin called “extinction’s alp,” no longer a stable peak in a distance, finally becoming rising ground. In England even at the actual beach I cannot find my beach. I look out at the freezing 40-degree water, at the families squeezed into ill-fitting wetsuits, huddled behind windbreakers, approaching a day at the beach with the kind of stoicism once conjured for things like the Battle of Britain, and all I can think is what funny, limited creatures we are, subject to every wind and wave, building castles in the sand that will only be knocked down by the generation coming up beneath us.

When I land at JFK , everything changes. For the first few days it is a shock: I have to get used to old New York ladies beside themselves with fury that I have stopped their smooth elevator journey and got in with some children. I have to remember not to pause while walking in the street—or during any fluid-moving city interaction—unless I want to utterly exasperate the person behind me. Each man and woman in this town is in pursuit of his or her beach and God help you if you get in their way. I suppose it should follow that I am happier in pragmatic England than idealist Manhattan, but I can’t honestly say that this is so. You don’t come to live here unless the delusion of a reality shaped around your own desires isn’t a strong aspect of your personality. “A reality shaped around your own desires”—there is something sociopathic in that ambition.

It is also a fair description of what it is to write fiction. And to live in a city where everyone has essentially the same tunnel vision and obsessive focus as a novelist is to disguise your own sociopathy among the herd. Objectively all the same limits are upon me in Manhattan as they are in England. I walk a ten-block radius every day, constrained in all the usual ways by domestic life, reduced to writing about whatever is right in front of my nose. But the fact remains that here I do write, the work gets done.

Even if my Manhattan productivity is powered by a sociopathic illusion of my own limitlessness, I’m thankful for it, at least when I’m writing. There’s a reason so many writers once lived here, beyond the convenient laundromats and the take-out food, the libraries and cafés. We have always worked off the energy generated by this town, the money-making and tower-building as much as the street art and underground cultures. Now the energy is different: the underground has almost entirely disappeared. (You hope there are still young artists in Washington Heights, in the Barrio, or Stuyvesant Town, but how much longer can they hang on?) A twisted kind of energy radiates instead off the soulcycling mothers and marathon-running octogenarians, the entertainment lawyers glued to their iPhones and the moguls building five “individualized” condo townhouses where once there was a hospital.

It’s not a pretty energy, but it still runs what’s left of the show. I contribute to it. I ride a stationary bike like the rest of them. And then I despair when Shakespeare and Co. closes in favor of another Foot Locker. There’s no way to be in good faith on this island anymore. You have to crush so many things with your mind vise just to get through the day. Which seems to me another aspect of the ad outside of my window: willful intoxication. Or to put it more snappily: “You don’t have to be high to live here, but it helps.”

Finally the greatest thing about Manhattan is the worst thing about Manhattan: self-actualization. Here you will be free to stretch yourself to your limit, to find the beach that is yours alone. But sooner or later you will be sitting on that beach wondering what comes next. I can see my own beach ahead now, as the children grow, as the practical limits fade; I see afresh the huge privilege of my position; it reclarifies itself. Under the protection of a university I live on one of the most privileged strips of built-up beach in the world, among people who believe they have no limits and who push me, by their very proximity, into the same useful delusion, now and then.

It is such a good town in which to work and work. You can find your beach here, find it falsely, but convincingly, still thinking of Manhattan as an isle of writers and artists—of downtown underground wildlings and uptown intellectuals—against all evidence to the contrary. Oh, you still see them occasionally here and there, but unless they are under the protection of a university—or have sold that TV show—they are all of them, every single last one of them, in Brooklyn.

Beach Description Essay

Looking for simple and beautiful descriptive writing about a beach in summer? The beach description essay below is just what you need! Get inspired for your own creative writing with us.

Introduction

Description of a beach.

Summer is the perfect time for individuals to visit and enjoy the marvelous scenes along the coast. In addition, the feelings and experiences felt on the beach during the summer are always fantastic. Several sceneries and experiences are seen and felt at the beach during summer. These include; the plantation along the beach and inside the sea, the animals, the waters, and the people found on the beach.

The beach appears to be alive and joyful with the presence of the natural vegetation. There are evergreen plantations both along and inside the beach. Images of buoyant seaweeds can be seen along the shore. Palms trees are seen to stand tall along the beach, dancing to the tune of the breeze emanating from the waters of the sea.

The sea grapes and the sea oats are also observed gathered in clusters in the sea next to the shore. Their colored flowers are splendid and brighten at the shining of the summer sun. The sweet scent of the flower grapes sends a signal to the world about the hope brought by nature.

The atmosphere is fully intensified by the aroma produced by the buoyant sea flowers. In addition, from afar, images of leafless trees are also observed. The perfect combination of the vegetation along the beach and inside the sea displays the beauty of nature to the highest peak.

It mesmerizes the eyes to gaze at the beautiful creatures that hover all over the beach and on the deep-sea waters. There are sights of beautiful birds that fly all over the dry shoreland and over the seawaters. Their colored feathers brightened the sea with a marvelous appearance at their illumination by the sun’s rays.

There are varieties of birds that are in the vicinity. For instance, there are pelicans and seagulls. Pelicans are seen hovering over the sand, singing sweet melodies that make the atmosphere at the beach vibrant. The seagulls are also observed to be flying over the seawater in small groups. Some of the birds are gathered in groups spreading the wings that cloaked a soft shadow on the gentle water ripples.

Next to the shore, there are sea turtles that seem to enjoy the summer heat from the sun. Their eggs are also seen to be exposed on the sand by the children that play on the shoreline. Bees are seen flying from one flower to another over the sea grapes. The humming of the bees as they gather nectar from the sea flowers attracts insect-eating birds.

Large crowds are observed all over the seashore. These people come to enjoy themselves on the beach at this period of the year. In the sea, people of all ages and sexes are seen swimming and playing with the cool seawater. The scorching heat from the summer sun is felt on the forehead of all individuals.

This makes the people chill themselves in the cool waters of the sea. The children are seen playing beach ball on the shoreline. Some children are also seen pelt each other with sand on the shoreline. Besides, young boys are observed climbing tall palm trees to gather fruits.

What is more, several activities take place along and inside the shoreline. Vendors are seen carrying ice creams and soft drinks all over the shoreline. Views of homes, hotels, and other buildings that run along the peak of the beach are also seen. On the sand where children play, pieces of shells are scattered.

In most cases, children collect the shells for fun. In the shades built along the shoreline, people are seen reading books, journals, and magazines. Some are seen idling on the sand, while few adults are observed playing football.

However, there is a disgusting scene of plastic bags, cigarette butts, food wrappers, and beer bottles along the beach. These items seem to pollute the entire shoreline and the seawater.

Anglers are also observed far into the sea casting large nets into the waters to have a bulk catch of their prey. Some of the anglers are also observed perching on the edge of the shore carrying sticks in their hands. Their faces displayed the anticipation that they had for their prey.

The deep waters of the sea produce a marvelous view for anyone who gazes at the sea. The water is seen to be slowly running low on the shore. Small waves are also observed crashing on the shoreline. The surface of the sea is seen to appear blue in color.

However, some portions are also seen to have the spectrum that results from the sun’s refracted rays. Deep inside the sea, there are high waves that lift boats up and down mightily. The shimmering waves of the sea that are clear and blue mirror the rays of the hot sun. The refreshing breeze that emanates from the seawater is enjoyable.

In conclusion, the beach has a perfect view and activities that are delightful to experience during the summer. It is a place that everyone would love to be at all times.

The Beach Essay

Descriptive Essay- Beach, Vacation The place where I feel most comfortable is a place where I am calm. A place that is peaceful in its own ways. It is the place to go to get away from all my troubles. It is the one place where I could sit forever, and never get tired of just staring into the deepest blue I have ever seen. It is the place where I can sit and think the best. A place where nothing matters but what is in that little moment. The one place capable of sending my senses into an overload. This place is the ocean. Just as I sit down on the sand my mind starts to unwind. The many spectacular sights jump at my eyes. As far as I can see there is turquoise water in front of me. What Is The Theme Of The Poem The Tempest Annotated

The sea is the abode of extreme paradoxes. Grave silence and roaring tempests, terrible darkness and glitzy colors, lovely reviving life and fearful surrendering deaths, solemnity and boisterousness, good fortunes and misfortunes, an inspiration to write sonnets or elegies – you will find all these around the sea.

Personal Narrative: My Summer At Clearwater Beach

I feel the gentle hot sand beneath my bare feet the tips of shells peek from the holes in the sand. The ocean….. I look over to see Allie sitting in her purple beach chair and i began to walk over across the sand. I haven't been to Willow cove beach since I was 3 when my mom was drinking all night at the beach bar and left me until someone called the cops at 2 in the morning to pick me up. So now I usually go surfing at Clearwater beach instead.

Personal Narrative: Growing Up In Southern California

Growing up in Southern California, I was surrounded by coastal culture, which has influenced me in many ways. No matter whether I lived in San Diego or Ventura county, I was never more than ten minutes away from the beach. Every weekend, it seemed, my dad would take us to the beach as family so we could play in the water, build sandcastles, catch hermit crabs, see the tide pools, and most of all, spend time together. I was enchanted by all the beach had to offer. Every sandcastle built was a palace for a hermit crab and every tide pool a thriving community. Whenever I stepped into the water, my imagination would run wild. Despite how often we went, I always enjoyed our days at the beach.

Swimsuit Descriptive Writing

As soon as we got to the beach I could smell the fresh water and feel the wet sand under my toes. I could hear the sound of waves hitting against each other. As soon as we reached the sandy beach, we changed into our swimsuits, quickly ran to the water and swam our afternoon away. Eventually, Montrose Ave Beach

Personal Narrative: My Life In Florida

I first encountered the ocean in 1958; I was ten. Being a map enthusiast, I knew exactly where Florida was, and I was excited to swim in the salty Atlantic Ocean. Born and raised next to frigid Lake Michigan I understood a large body of water as well as a sandy beach, but no book or encyclopedia prepared me for understanding the flavor or immensity of an ocean and its adjoining shore. Arriving at the beach I raced across the hot pure white sand to keep my feet from burning, stopping in wonder when I saw ocean waves gently caressing a seashore that seemed to go on and on forever. I knew I was somewhere special.

I Love Assateague Research Paper

You look around and all you see is mother nature's finest. The beach is where people go to have fun and that’s why I go to this one special beach, because you get a little of everything there. You get wild life, the ocean, and pure silence. The only thing you can hear is the ocean waves crashing onto the beach, reminds me of Niagara falls. Its breathtaking. And everything is clean. No trash laying around at all. Nothing.

Ocean City Essay

After traveling for 3-hours, my family arrived at our beach house in Ocean City Maryland. After making a quick trip for groceries, we decided to go to bed and set alarm clocks for early in the morning. After a good nights sleep, I woke up to the pleasant smell of bacon and eggs. After feasting on a delightful breakfast, my brothers and I began to get ready for the beach. We went down the creaky wooden stairs of our beach house and unlocked the storage room located beneath the home. I decided to carry both of the floral umbrellas while my brothers took the portable beach chairs. After grabbing all of our gear, we headed back up the weathered stairs and towards the distant sand dunes. As we approached the entrance of the sand dunes, the satisfying sounds of the ocean's waves started to become closer and closer. Once we traveled closer, the vivid orange sun began to ascend from the deep sea. At this early point in the morning, the sand walkway enclosed by

Wave Worn Rocks Research Paper

Here lies the area where the rising blue sea crashes on to a shore surrounded by huge, wave-worn rocks. Where the sun shines through the skies and radiates the skin of inhabitants who are admiring the beauty of nature. The limestone shoreline fights back by pushing the water back out and creating a enormous splash accompanied by the effect of ocean spray. Some people come here to go snorkeling and explore a whole new world underneath the water, while others come to enjoy the scenic views and are accompanied by loved ones to walk down the vast amount of nature trails. However to me, this is a place where I am allowed to ponder and be away from the noisiness of city life. At Blow Rocks Preserve Beach, I walk along the beach and am instanly relieved

Personal Narrative: My Mom's Red Durango

Personal Narrative: Run Lauren

The sound of the crashing waves surrounding me, and my family yelling "Run Lauren!" filled the air as I stood in awe of this wave heading straight toward me. My family decided to take a trip to Los Angeles, California to visit family, and the popular landmarks the state holds. I was excited to visit the beach because I had never encountered the ocean or the tropical climate before. I had never seen the ocean before so my excitement to go to the beach overflowed. While we were in California we had the opportunity to visit the beach but due to a tight time schedule, we did not have the opportunity to spend much time at the beach. The day we went seemed perfect to go, but with only a limited time frame to go, we did not have the opportunity to

Ocean City Description

The waves end at my ankles and the water and sand rushing through my toes feel great. I shiver and shiver until I finally get used to the water. I make my way farther out to where I'm leveled off to my waist. Quick breathe, then dunk under. I quickly pull my soaked head of the salty sea and comb my hair back with my wrinkled fingers. My sun kissed face makes my freckles pop when you could never see them. To be safe, I slowly get out of the salty wetland and make my way under the colorful umbrella my mom set up when I was away from them, enjoying the water.

Personal Narrative

The constant wind brushing my face was a clear indication of how fast we were going. The boat sliced through wave after wave like a giant surfboard. Gold tendrils of hair whipped around my head, refusing to be tamed. As we neared the dive site, we all started suiting up and strapping on our gear. The sun was so oppressive that I knew the cool water was going to be a relief. While we prepared, the dive master took out a dry erase board and mapped out the

Descriptive Essay About The Sky

The ocean strokes land with calm and reassuring hands, lacing water with sand and lifting seashells in its wake. A Day at the Beach

The sun’s rays glisten across the water as my family and I lie on the golden sands of the beach to relax. Seagulls and other families are scattered around us along the length of the beach. My mom, my sister, and I lie next to each other, listening to the waves crashing against the ocean bank.

Essay about trip to beach

Self needs to rest and relax after a long period of study and exposure to exams pressure, which makes summer holidays and high temperature of the atmosphere ideal opportunity to enjoy the sea and the moderate atmosphere of the beautiful beaches.

The pleasure of going to the sea is incomparable when you go with your family or friends. I remember last year when I went with my family to the beach in summer. The sea is about 400 km away. My father prepared the car and checked engine oil, battery, fuel, tires and belts. He booked for our stay at a hotel near the beach.

My mother and sister prepared everything we needed on our trip as light food and soft drinks to have on the way to the hotel. My sister prepared the necessary clothing for the sea, sunscreen and some essential medicines.

We did not take much food because we would be in a hotel in a coastal city that offers a buffet and there are many fish restaurants around the hotel.

We moved early in the morning to avoid the high temperature of summer and reach before roads congestion.

We stopped on our way for a short break to eat some sandwiches and have soft drinks. It was a simple rest area in the middle of the desert. We felt a sense of serenity and calm.

After four hours of driving, we arrived at the hotel at nine o’clock in the morning and went to our rooms to rest, change clothes and take all what we need to go to the beach.

We headed to the beach and we chose an isolated spot from the people, it had canopy and some comfortable plastic chairs and a large table.

We put our bags on the table and went to swim in the sea and then went out for lunch that my father ordered from a fish restaurant. The fish was fresh and tasty and we enjoyed our meal very much.

After lunch, we sat under the canopy enjoying the sea view, refreshing breaths, listening to music and playing some fun games.

Before returning to the hotel, we went back to the sea to finish our first day on this beautiful trip.

  • A trip to the beach essay

Last holiday I and my family were able to take a trip to the beach in my town, and we were able to gather with members of my mother’s relatives on this holiday.

My relatives are not from my town but from a town a little far from the shore. And they come every year to visit the beach and play with us.

I enjoy a lot in their presence because of the activities and enthusiasm they do. The beach has a different feel when they come. I always find them more interested, happy and willing to have fun than us.

The reason may be that the beach is always in front of us so we don’t get too excited about it. But at times when I accompany my relatives, I find myself more excited and come to know the value of the beach to others who are not able to see it constantly. Now, I really can appreciate this feature.

I find it great to have other people from time to time reminding us of what’s fun and great. We are always surrounded by wonderful things, but we no longer see them as beautiful when we see them for the first time.

Like watching the sunset on the beach, it made me feel so warm and comfortable. Sometimes I could watch the sunrise and I really enjoyed seeing it. I hope that I can enjoy all the moments around me and see my surroundings well.

Which made me more self-confident when talking to others and discussing a lot of things without being shy. I also learned to throw some funny topics that others like.

It’s great to be able to get a job like this at my age. It does not represent a lot of pressure and made me aspire in the upcoming holiday to search for something more serious.

Essay: The Beach

English / Samples May 31, 2011

Sample Essay

With the waves crashing on the shore, the golden sand sparkling in the sunlight and crystal clear water, the beach is undoubtedly one of my most favorite places to be. This is one place that anyone can enjoy being alone or with company. It has a deep and calming effect and is a place for everyone. Whether one wants to have fun, thrill, activity or needs a peaceful and relaxing time, beach is simply the perfect place to be in all sorts of mood.

The perfect time to go out and enjoy the maximum beauty of the beach is the morning. The rising sun from the horizon unfolding its rays producing a gentle comforting heat is perfectly complemented by the cool waves striking against the shore. The steady rhythmic sound of the waves gliding over the sand coupled by the thinning fog and the gentle breeze creates a magical aura that deeply soothes the soul. The beautiful combination of the bright blue sky with white clouds looking like fluffy cotton balls, to the bluish green water against a bed of golden sand creates such a mesmerizing sight for the eye that one can’t help being admired by such miracles of nature.

Seagulls gliding over the water, children playing around, adults surfing; it looks like the water has infused a sense of merriment and joy in all. Such is the power of the beach. The day passes slowly and steadily and comes the time for the sun to go down and impart a majestic beauty to the beach once again. The sky changes color and tends to redden slightly- the descending sun’s reflection in the water, rising pace of the waves against the dropping heat of the sand and the seagulls preparing to depart to their homes, all gel together to create a never-to-be-missed sight.

Nature reveals itself and life shows its true colors at the beach.

Free Descriptive Essay Samples About the Beach

Last summer, I had the chance to visit my aunt at her coastal home. The octogenarian , I have to admit, lives in one of the world’s most serene places. The beach is a fantastic phenomenon and the fun that comes along with it is overwhelming. Two weeks into the visit, my cousins took me to the seashore, and I just couldn’t get enough of it. I fell in love with the splashing waters and cool breeze. I hated that evening would come and we’d have to leave the blissful sensation of the beach. I nonetheless promised myself to make the most out of the short time we would spend there.

We set out early in the morning with our cameras and light shorts. A light breeze blew and it took my soul with it. I felt like I was in a whole new world. The wind brought fresh air to my nostrils and I just couldn’t help but pump as much as I could. It not only filled my lungs with rejuvenating oxygen, but also my mind with a hope of having the best day of my life. My ears weren’t left behind either. It’s like the fresh air was singing melodious blues as we walked. I was sure experiencing something I’d never experienced before.

We arrived on our scooter right on time for the rising sun. Never in my life had I seen such a majestic view. We’d left home early on right before the sun would mark its territories. And, apparently, our cameras were getting the best work they’d had for years. Towards the east, the sky was literally burning. The first rays were already throwing their warmth across the sky. They were doing just like cheerleaders would do during an NFA match. Or, better still, like the escort guards from the Secret Service do before the Head of State arrives.

The rays did their job pretty fine. They were yellow and glittered like the flames of an enormous camping bonfire! While the sky was showing its beauty, the sea was glittering and reflecting back. It was as if they were partners colluding to welcome a big guest. The yellow glare made our photography interesting and every shot was worth it.

The sun finally hit the surface. The ground acknowledged its presence and started glittering. The tiny sand particles shed silver lights all over the beach. The sweet rays caressed my skin and I now understood why everyone at the seashore liked to expose theirs. It was a gentle warmth, I have to say!

My excitement was rejuvenated. But I couldn’t possibly beat the birds. They shouted with a wild joy. They jumped up and down. I saw several of them chase after sea creatures. It was marvelous watching the birds dive into the water and suddenly shoot up into the sky like rockets. No sooner had we joined them into the diving than people started coming out of their homes. The shore was flocked now. Some came for entertainment while others were looking for fishing grounds. It was a beehive of activities I tell you.

When evening came, it was yet another scenery in the sky as the sun dived into horizons of the sea. People started going back to their homes and the birds gradually became silent. The evening breeze blew, bringing another refreshing smell of the salty water to my nostrils. Waves of water splashed onto the coral reefs as the tides took new positions. The fishermen set out their nets as if their day was just beginning. Suddenly, my aunt was calling. She knew we were having too much fun, and that we’d possibly get late.

Sample 2: A Day at the Beach

We arrive at the seashore at day break. Bright yellow rays of the sun greet us. Their golden mien reflects on the surface of the water. The sun – the main guest – hasn’t arrived yet, but the beach is well lit already. The blue cloudless sky is overly yellow towards the east, which alerts that the sun will be ruling the day beginning soon. A breeze blows by, filled with a refreshing smell of the salty sea water. It gets me reminiscing about my childhood. I get nostalgic of molding magnificence with the sea sand. But today is another day altogether. I’m far older, with a wife, a son, and a daughter. Today is their day. I am just a companion.

The sun is now in full control of the seashore and its effects can be felt by everyone. It’s warm, and the air is filled with moisture from the sea. The ground is mildly warm, and the fine sand particles are glittering like scattered pieces of silver. I can’t help but keep getting strands of my hair off my sight as the wind blows them wildly. My wife’s case is more serious. But she looks gorgeous at the beach and seeing her playing with my kids makes me feel how quick I’ve grown and transformed. I look back at my childhood with a reassuring gaze as I watch my two bundles of joy run alongside their mother in the warm sand at the shore.

The birds stop singing now. Their entertainment about the new day is gone and they are focused on food search. It’s fun to watch them jump into the water, capture crabs and fishes, before darting into the air at electric speeds, like shooting stars.

My son is dying to swim. I know this side of the ocean isn’t crocodile- or shark-infested, but I still want to be sure. I remember that as young boys, we were so fond of swimming until when one day we saw a scary scaly rock moving on the water. It looked like a submarine that kept emerging and submerging. One boy yelled after he recognized it was a baby crocodile. I just feared reptiles and he saved us from what would be an end of an era for us. After confirming that it is safe to swim, I allow my kids to swim on one of the shallow waters around us.

I notice I am not the only one who cares about my children. A few yards away, a kingfisher is already teaching her chicks how to get food. They descend from the palm tree at the edge of the sea. The baby kingfisher can’t swim but her mum is doing all she can to offer the help. I also take a snap of a school of dolphins. They are far from the beach but with the help of my binoculars, my wife and I enjoy the glamor of seeing them jump up and take dives as they chase a boat.

It’s evening now. My family is happy that they have had as much fun as they’d hoped for. We’ve already eaten roasted fish from the lake for lunch. The beach, flocked with swimmers and sunbathers a few moments ago, is now getting less busy. Fishermen are starting their night shifts. The sun is already diving into the horizon of the water, leaving behind a huge yellow light. Birds start to sing again. It’s time for me to drive my family back home.

The beach is the place I go to whenever I need to relax and forget about all the hustles of life and just enjoy myself. As usual, my last visit to there was a memorable one. Already in my beach attire, a draught blew across the sea sweeping away with it my spirit. The sun split its way through the scattered cumulus clouds as if it was shying away from giving some light. As I took in a breath of fresh air, my nose was tingled by the smell of the salty sea. A mine field of corals made up the beach sand, with an abundance of multicolored sea shells. A bed of blankets was however formed by the sand at the same time. Like my previous visit, this visit was promising to be one filled with immense joy and relaxation.

My heart somehow pounded like a drum-set of an orchestra from the way the beach sand flowed onto my feet and tickled my toes. The feeling was delicate especially given that the sand grains were so fine it was almost impossible to see them through the human eye. The sea waves soothed me through a dulcet lullaby thus drawing me closer to them as I reminisced my childhood. It was like they were giving me an invitation with wide open arms. However, my feet would not oblige at this time because they were penetrated by the frigid waves. So, I just sat down with my head raised to the sky as I watched the sun stretch out and make its way across the sky.

The warm sun rays gradually glowed as minutes passed by, reaching down to me and giving me a shining streak of light as if to tell me, “Hey, hold my hand!” I received an immediate boost of excitement as the blazing light pierced through my cold skin. Tracing its way up the sky, the sun distributed its light to everything it could lay its sight on. Birds flying across the sky trying to claim it for themselves were singing sweet melodies with high spirits into my ears. From the sun rays, the sky turned into an illuminated shimmering blue color from a dark misty indigo one. The scattered rainless clouds that were initially blocking sun rays melted away into thin air and gave way for the water to heat up.

I slowly made my way to the edge of the beach once again and immersed my toe into the now swiftly heating up water. I hastily withdrew it as it felt like it was melting away into the sea in spite of having been numb before. The pungent smell that came from decayed algae filled the air and my acidic stomach responded by turning to its side. I could hear the sounds of fish that were possibly calling for attention from under the sea. I could at the same time tell that the fish were afraid of the sea creatures that were hungrily preying on smaller water creatures for lunch. This was a survival tactic, I could tell.

As the evening was drawing, people poured onto the beach to enjoy the serenity and perfect weather. Children ran up and down as laughter filled up every corner of the beach and people even played beach football and volleyball. The day was finally coming to an end and one by one, people started leaving slowly after what had been a day full of excitement. It was unfortunate that as much as I had wanted to continue staying on the beach and continue undergoing this memorable experience, my turn to go home finally came. I left with a heart filled with happiness and peace and a tired body and promised myself that I would go back there as many times as I would be able to.

Essay about the Beach

Diamond beach is what most people would call “a little paradise or a piece of heaven on earth.” The spectacular, flawless white beach stretches with no limit for the eye as it goes across the ocean so amazingly. Just by gazing at the endless sands, as the sun’s rays rest on the waters freshly emerging from their resting place, anyone would be astounded by the beauty of nature. The clouds timidly exposed as the sky beams blue making it obvious that this would be a beautiful day. It is not hard to hear the ocean whisper its promises for the day due to the serenity of diamond, as the graceful sounds of songbirds light up the morning mood. The reigning feeling is that of a soothing calmness that makes life difficult for an iota of gloom. Nature seems to be passing across the message that a great day filled with happiness and devoid of mishaps should be expected.

The smell of fresh air taking you away from all the hustles and bustles of a polluted environment in an ordinary day is nothing you would want to miss. In a world where air pollution has become so rampant, I believe allowing everyone to experience the fresh breeze would be a great lesson for conserving our ecosystem. The freshness and tranquility of the atmosphere at Diamond beach defines a habitable ecosystem that every living thing deserves to experience. Being at this beach makes you appreciate that this world is truly a beautiful place. You forget all your worries as your mind sinks into the serenity making you want to live forever. It is one place that reminds us to appreciate life and conserves the beauty of nature. It directly talks to us to acknowledge that life does not have to be first-paced all the time. It makes the importance of taking time off to real and unwind become so real and necessary.

Diamond beach is a rare and precious place to be. I know millions of beaches exist globally, but none is like the diamond beach. The light kisses from the coastal breeze, the smell freshness, the purity of the sand, and the crimson beauty of water is out of this world. Regardless of whichever angle you may view the beach from, you will not miss noticing the splendor of this natural feature. Every step in the beach leaves fine-grained sand shifting as if paving the way for the next step you take. With every motion forward, you feel like you are walking on freshly fallen snow. The only difference is that the crystalline white blanket bequeathed by the winter normally is cold but on the beach, it is warm thanks to the sun rays.

During the day, you cannot fail to notice a change in the cute sand particles as they form a golden reflection from the sun. It appears as if the sun rays are trapped inside the unmelting sand crystals forming the beautiful yellow golden color. Interestingly, upon picking the sand gravels, they rest on your palm like diamond crystals illuminating a white color between your fingers. Despite the midday heat, being at the beach at this time is an opportunity to witness its brightness entirely. The fact that it is conserved as a private beach adds to its numerous advantages and lessens congestion giving everyone a chance to connect with nature undisturbed. It is almost impossible not to notice the ocean at this point of the day. It waves curl up and down, rolling in white tipped shapes, spreading like fine silky laces over the beach. The way they softly crash on the beach or violently splash their waters overboard is simply stunning. The gentle sound that emanates from their contact with the beach makes the feeling even more fulfilling.

If the ocean were a person, I would describe it in many ways. It would be at one point introverted, calm, still, graceful but at another point extroverted, throwing waves aggressively, outgoing and interactive. The behavior of the ocean cannot be described as noisy despite all the commotion that appears to be going on. Only slight wave sounds that a keen soul would hear. I think the ocean has many secrets it would share with people if it could talk. For me, its silent sounds take me back to a time of reflecting and appreciating life. They give new meaning to life. With every turn of the wave that comes and goes, I remember we are all passing by in this world, and the best thing to do is appreciate what we have, before the next wave takes over. For a moment, I am lost in thoughts when a palm leaf drops on my silky dress and brings me back to reality.

It is almost impossible to go on discussing diamond without describing the splendid physical environment that surrounds the beach. The physical environment of the beach is superb. The first thing that I notice as I focus my attention on the beach is the relaxation mood. People from all age groups can be seen on beach seats with colorful costumes and fluffy towels. I guess they are just from enjoying a swim. On that note, I should not forget to state that lovers of swimming will enjoy being in Diamond. The water temperature is never hot or cold but perfect for a swim. Small adorable children in white costumes appear like angels creating sand castles as others run across to float kites on the cool breeze. The teens are frolicking with beach balls having a time of their lives as the young adults cuddle, hold hands, and share special moments while taking a walk along the shoreline.

A few meters away a particular group of people can be seen excluded for religious reasons. As I draw my focus to that group, I realize that they are having an outdoor yoga class. What a great place to connect with your internal senses and spirituality. Diamond is definitely the place to be for yoga especially during morning or evening hours. There is little interruption and the silence is just what you need. Upon inquiring from one of the yoga instructors, I am told that the classes have been going on for a while in the same spot. According to the instructor, people have found peace in their lives since they started visiting Diamond beach for yoga. If you love yoga, you have found a recreation and a spiritual connection site.

Diamond beach stands out in the Caribbean Island of modern beach houses giving the inhabitants a panoramic ocean view. The mastermind behind the exterior was Chad while Davis studio aided with the interior and Enzo the landscaping to give an elegant piece of artwork. The prowess and architectural expertise is incredible as everyone who walks to the beach never fails to notice the splendor. Attractive colors that allow calm and light are a perfect complement to the beach which is bright during the day. The Hi-tech beach houses which have been designed in the latest architectural designs are similar, all having balconies facing the sandy beach. From the balcony, you enjoy seeing the spectacular ocean view as lounges of water cover up the entire place. Those living or visiting Diamond enjoy beautiful weather which cannot be described as sunny or humid. It is just perfect.

Serving the visitors, tourists, and locals in the beach is the Diamond hotel. It’s shaped like a diamond and is an exquisite place to be if you plan to spend a few days on the beach and do not live nearby. They offer great room services and maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness with excellent customer care services. The rooms are ample and spacious with perfect temperatures and an excellent view of the beach. You get to enjoy free internet connection, music system, and laptops for use while you enjoy visiting the beach. The rates are cost-friendly as the hotel packages cater for people from all age groups. If you have toddlers, you should not worry as there are special cots and nurses to attend to children. If you have special needs, the staircase and special rooms have been modified to meet them. The reception, ambiance, and hospitality of the hotel will make you stay longer. Recreational activities are available with a fully-serviced gym for fitness, spa, massage, and beauty parlor to make you gorgeous as you go out. Besides the remarkable fitness and beauty services, there are spectacular mouthwatering and finger-licking delicacies to choose from. The food is freshly served upon placing an order while alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are also in plenty. In general thus, visiting Diamond beach is a memorable and magnificent experience. Getting a chance to interact with the lovely, friendly Caribbean people and share in their rich dance culture could even make you want to change your nationality.

250 Words Essay on Visit To A Beach

What is a beach.

A beach is an area of sand or small rocks on the shore of an ocean, sea, lake, or river. Beaches are usually found where the water is shallow and the waves are not too strong.

My Visit To The Beach

As I stepped onto the sandy shore, I felt the warm sun caress my skin and the cool breeze playfully tousle my hair. Before me stretched an endless expanse of sparkling blue water, dotted with whitecaps that danced and shimmered in the sunlight. I spent the day swimming, building sandcastles, and collecting shells. As the sun began to set, I found a cozy spot on the sand to watch the sky transform into a canvas of vibrant hues.

Seeing Unique Creatures

During my beach visit, I was amazed by the diverse wildlife I encountered. Colorful crabs scuttled across the sand, and seagulls soared overhead, their raucous calls echoing through the air. In the water, I spotted a pod of dolphins frolicking and leaping out of the waves. The beach was a vibrant ecosystem teeming with life, and it was a privilege to witness it all.

Feeling Relaxed

As I sat on the beach, listening to the soothing rhythm of the waves and feeling the sand beneath my toes, I felt a sense of peace and tranquility wash over me. The worries and stresses of daily life seemed to melt away, replaced by a feeling of pure relaxation. The beach had a magical ability to rejuvenate my mind, body, and soul. I felt refreshed and revitalized, ready to face the challenges of life with renewed vigor.

As I stepped onto the beach, I was met with a breathtaking view. The sand was white and soft, and the water was a beautiful shade of turquoise. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. We spread out our beach chairs and umbrellas and soaked up the sun. I spent the morning building sandcastles, swimming in the ocean, and collecting seashells. It was the perfect day at the beach.

Relaxation and Reflection

As the sun started to set, we packed up our things and headed back to the car. I was tired but happy. I had spent a wonderful day at the beach, and I couldn’t wait to come back again soon. As I drove home, I reflected on the day. I realized that the beach was more than just a place to swim and sunbathe. It was a place to relax, to escape the stresses of everyday life, and to connect with nature. I was grateful for the opportunity to spend a day at the beach, and I knew that I would cherish the memories for years to come.

A visit to the beach can be a wonderful experience. It’s a place to relax, connect with nature, and create memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you’re swimming, sunbathing, building sandcastles, or just enjoying the view, there’s something for everyone at the beach. Pearl of the Orient – Penang

Penang is one of the most fascinating states which I had the opportunity to visit during the last school holidays. It was my fifth visit to Penang, yet there were still so many things to do and places to visit. And of course, a variety of mouth-watering food to eat.

Places to visit in Penang

In Penang, there are many touristy places like Penang Hill, Kek Lok Si Temple, and Gurney Drive. The most enjoyable place I visited on this trip was the Made In Penang Interactive Museum located at Weld Quay, Georgetown.

Made in Penang Interactive Museum displays interesting 3D artwork. For example, there is a picture of a huge 3D snake slithering out from the frame of the Snake Temple picture. This unconventional and impressive museum allows visitors to touch and get close to the artwork. My family and I had great fun taking pictures here.

Recommended places in Penang

Another beautiful place that I highly recommend visiting is the Batu Ferringhi Beach which is about 11 kilometres from the city centre. It is a popular destination for local and foreign tourists alike.

My family and I will head to the beach every time we are in Penang. If you love water sport activities, like jet skiing and parasailing, this is the best place for you.

Essay conclusion

To end, Penang is a wonderful place to spend your holidays. If you are planning for a holiday, do include Penang in your list. You will undoubtedly enjoy your time spent there.

Courts | Jury issues split verdict in Virginia Beach deputy’s wrongful termination case, awards $10,000 in damages

Attorney William Thetford Jr., right, stands outside the federal courthouse in Norfolk on Feb. 16, 2024 with former Virginia Beach deputy William Fowler and Fowler's wife, state Del. Kelly Convirs-Fowler, to discuss the verdict in Fowler's wrongful determination case.

NORFOLK — A federal jury on Friday determined that former Virginia Beach Sheriff Ken Stolle violated a deputy’s First Amendment right to free association when he terminated him, but decided he didn’t infringe upon the deputy’s free speech rights.

The panel ordered Stolle to pay former deputy William “Dave” Fowler $10,000 in damages, far below the more than $1 million his attorneys sought.

The verdict came at the end of a four-day trial in U.S. District Court. The jury deliberated about five hours.

Fowler’s lead attorney, William Thetford Jr., said while they were disappointed with the amount awarded they were pleased the panel agreed that Fowler’s rights had been violated.

“We’re really glad that the jury decided and agreed that law enforcement employment should be about right and wrong, and not about right and left,” Thetford said. “That’s what was important to us.”

Stolle said he was pleased the jury decided he hadn’t violated Fowler’s free speech rights and had only awarded a “minuscule” amount on the other claim.

Former Virginia Beach Sheriff Ken Stolle stands outside the federal courthouse in Norfolk on Feb. 16, 2024 to discuss the verdict in a civil claim brought by one of his former deputies.

One issue that still must be decided by the judge is whether Stolle had “qualified immunity,” which would mean he wouldn’t have to pay any damages. Qualified immunity is a legal principle that protects elected officials from lawsuits except when shown they violated a clearly established law or constitutional right.

Fowler had been a deputy with the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office for about fifteen years when Stolle informed him in late November 2021 that he was placing him on immediate administrative leave. Stolle also told Fowler he would not be reappointed to his job when the sheriff’s next term began in a few weeks.

Fowler filed a federal lawsuit the following year in which he claimed he was terminated because of his and his wife’s political views . He also argued that the move violated his rights to free speech and to associate with others with similar political beliefs.

Fowler’s wife is Del. Kelly Convirs-Fowler, who was first elected to the General Assembly in 2017. Convirs-Fowler is a Democrat, while Stolle is Republican.

The problems between Fowler and his boss began in 2019, when Fowler appeared in uniform in a campaign commercial for his wife , which was in violation of Sheriff’s Office policy that required he get permission first. The couple said they immediately had Fowler removed from the advertisement once they learned of the violation and he was told not to do it again.

When Convirs-Fowler was running again in 2021, Fowler asked for permission to wear his uniform in an ad for his wife, but was told “no” by supervisors. Fowler instead appeared in the ad wearing a polo shirt and khaki pants, but an old photograph of him in uniform was included in a collage of family photos displayed during the spot. The ad aired in early October 2021.

Fowler testified he didn’t know the photo was going to be used and hadn’t authorized its use. Convirs-Fowler told jurors she didn’t think the photo violated the sheriff’s policy because he didn’t appear in person in uniform.

Shortly before Fowler was discharged from the Sheriff’s Office, Convirs-Fowler texted Stolle and said she wanted to meet so she could show him a video that purportedly showed one of his deputies at the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

Convirs-Fowler continued to push for a meeting in a series of texts to the sheriff. The day after their last exchange, Fowler was called into Stolle’s office and was told he was being placed on leave and wouldn’t be reappointed. When he asked for a reason, the sheriff declined to give him one and simply said his services were no longer needed.

Convirs-Fowler testified she believed the sheriff was angry with her repeated requests for a meeting about the video and fired her husband in retaliation. Stolle testified that he fired Fowler because he had violated a direct order not to appear in uniform in his wife’s ads and that politics had nothing to do with it.

A three-judge appeals court panel determined a Norfolk judge didn't err when he dismissed a complaint filed by attorney Amina Matheny-Willard and fined her $500 for submitting it for improper reasons. Tahiti 4-3 Argentina Tahiti 4-3 Argentina

Tahiti goals: Salem (2), Li Fung Kuee, Tinirauarii Argentina goals: Ponzetti (2), Pomar Player of the Match: Jonathan Torohia

What a thriller. Argentina led. Tahiti led comfortably. They ultimately had to survive a late onslaught to crawl over the line. In between there was a splendid Lucas Ponzetti goal, three glorious bicycle kicks and an exceptional performance from a goalkeeper with rapid reflexes and palatial ball skills, Jonathan Torohia.

“Beach soccer is crazy. It’s so fun to watch. You see bicycle kicks, other spectacular goals. You always see teams coming from behind and winning. Argentina almost did that to us at the end. I think it was a great spectacle for the spectators. Thankfully we won.” Heimanu Taiarui , Tahiti player “We gave it huge effort. I think they knew how to play their game well, which is the two-two. It's hard for us because we always have to double our intensity, our effort, playing against a team that has a goalkeeper who plays very well with his feet. We played a very good game and we finished the game positively.” Lucas Ponzetti , Argentina player

Frankie Muniz, Hailie Deegan and SVG: The Daytona Xfinity Series race has plenty to watch

DAYTONA BEACH — It's raining in Daytona . And grass is green.

But whenever the Xfinity Series opener , the United Rentals 300, finally gets underway on Monday , it promises to be a good one. And with plenty of things to watch and monitor.

Hopefully, good things really do come to those who wait . The race, originally scheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m., was moved to Monday at 11 a.m. due to rain, though qualifying went off without a hitch , setting the lineup for Monday's early race. That weather persisted into Sunday morning with NASCAR making an early call to move the 66th Daytona 500 to 4 p.m. on Monday, creating the first Monday doubleheader in the history of Daytona International Speedway.

HOW TO WATCH: What channel is the Daytona Xfinity race on today? Start time, TV for United Rentals 300

As of early Monday morning, well, rain was still making its presence felt, necessitating another change in the schedule with the start of the United Rentals 300 being pushed back to 9 p.m. But once the start does arrive, there's nothing minor about the intrigue surrounding NASCAR's secondary series in Daytona. Here are five things to watch:

Hailie Deegan begins her first full-time Xfinity Series season

After three years in the Craftsman Truck Series, Hailie Deegan will begin her full-time career at the Xfinity level on Monday at Daytona. She was signed by AM Racing and will drive the No. 15 Ford Mustang.

Deegan, voted the Truck Series' most popular driver in all three of her seasons, struggled to find footing in terms of results — she finished 17th, 21st and 19th in points from 2021-2023. In 69 Truck Series starts, she managed just five top-10 finishes and never finished inside the top five.

She has one Xfinity Series start under her belt and it was an encouraging one as she finished 13th at Las Vegas while driving for SS-Green Light Racing in 2022.

SVG looks for a better, longer Xfinity race at Daytona

While Deegan has at least one Xfinity start to fall back on, New Zealander Shane van Gisbergen will ake his series debut. That after running in Friday night's ARCA Menards Series race, an event in which he was swiftly collected in a crash.

Van Gisbergen came away with one of the biggest Cup Series upsets of all time last summer, winning the inaugural Chicago Street Race in a one-off start with Trackhouse Racing.

That victory led to another start with the team at the Indianapolis Road Course, and after another top-10 finish, expressed interest in making NASCAR a full-time thing. The man known as SVG was soon signed to run a full-time Xfinity season in the No. 97 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing. He will also make at least seven Cup starts, though it is unknown whether those will come with Trackhouse or Kaulig.

Despite 81 wins, three championships and 508 starts in Aussie Supercars across 17 seasons, the 34-year-old has never run a superspeedway race. So, as a precaution, NASCAR mandated van Gisbergen run in the ARCA opener, where he ran the No. 28 Pinnacle Racing Group Chevrolet.

Frankie Muniz will attempt Xfinity Series debut

Also attempting his series debut will be former sitcom star of "Malcolm in the Middle," Frankie Muniz, who ran a full-time ARCA Menards Series season last year , finishing fourth.

Muniz will start on the back row in the No. 35 Joey Gase Racing Ford and will run a part-time Xfinity schedule with the team, via announcement last week. The car was split between Gase and Patrick Emerling in 2023.

Muniz finished 11th in the spring Daytona ARCA race last February.

Austin Hill, Cole Custer, Riley Herbst lead list of Daytona favorites

Any talk of possible winners in Monday's race has to start with Austin Hill, who will enter having won each of the last two United Rentals 300s in the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet. Counting Atlanta along with Daytona and Talladega, Hill has won four races at superspeedways in the last two seasons. He qualified second on Saturday alongside RCR teammate Jesse Love, who took the pole in the first race of his Xfinity rookie season.

After being demoted within Stewart-Haas Racing from the Cup Series to the Xfinity Series prior to last season, Cole Custer answered the bell to say the least, winning three races and his first NASCAR series championship. Custer has never won a race at a superspeedway.

Speaking of Stewart-Haas, no driver in the series finished stronger than Custer's teammate Riley Herbst, who finished in the top four in each of the final five races of the year including his first Xfinity win at Las Vegas. Herbst will also run in the Daytona 500, making his second consecutive start in the Great American Race. He finished 10th for Rick Ware Racing last year.

Allmendinger, Nemechek, Suarez to run in Xfinity race

Herbst is hardly the only driver slated to run all 800 miles of racing on Monday .

John Hunter Nemechek and Daniel Suarez, both full-time Cup Series drivers , will also run in the United Rentals 300. Nemechek finished fourth in the Xfinity Series points standings last year before signing on to drive the No. 42 Legacy Motor Club Toyota in the Cup Series this year. He'll pilot the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota in Monday's opener.

Suarez is entering his fourth season in the Cup Series for Trackhouse Racing and made one start in the Xfinity Series in 2023, finishing 10th at Pocono for Kaulig Racing. He'll run the No. 14 SS-Greenlight Chevrolet.

One more driver, Anthony Alfredo, will run the Xfinity/Cup Series doubleheader this weekend. Alfredo locked himself into the Daytona 500 field via qualifying on Wednesday, registering the best time among the six open cars in the No. 62 Beard Motorsports Chevrolet. He will drive the No. 5 Our Motorsports Chevy full time in the Xfinity series this year.

Review of the Policy on Staff-Monitored Program With Executive Board Involvement

Publication Date:

This paper reviews the policy on Staff-Monitored Program with Executive Board Involvement (PMB). The PMB plays an important niche role in the Fund’s toolkit in supporting members in circumscribed circumstances, while not supplanting the Staff-Monitored Programs (SMPs) as the primary tool for building or rebuilding a track record towards a Fund arrangement that supports a UCT-quality program. Experience with the PMB is limited to three country cases over the past sixteen months. Further experience would be needed to draw more definitive conclusions in terms of the usefulness of the PMB vis-à-vis alternative instruments and a more parsimonious Fund toolkit. In this context, the PMB is kept in the toolkit, and it will be expected to be reviewed in three years.
